Arrive exactly as instructed, typically with clean, product-free hair in its natural state. The grid and locking pattern are installed with careful attention to consistency while still respecting the way your hair grows. Because establishments can require an extended appointment, the salon may discuss breaks, timing and realistic finishing expectations with you before the date.

Retightening and ongoing maintenance

The establishment is the beginning, not the finish line. Regular retightening keeps new growth organized and helps protect the structure of the locs. Sisterlocks™ retightening with shampoo is $130 and up. The actual service time and price depend on the amount of new growth, the condition of the grid and whether repairs or additional work are needed.

Waiting far beyond the recommended maintenance rhythm can create bunching, marrying, slippage or additional labor.
